New Digz

Meet my new purchases!

My new gypsy earrings from All Saints finally arrived, which also means my parachute dress is here, too! These babies are pretty heavy, jingle when I walk, and may be just a tad bit annoying, but I don't care!

I found these motorcycle boots at Buffalo Exchange on a busy, busy Saturday afternoon. They were just sitting there on the shelf all lonely as several girls overlooked them. I couldn't believe no one had grabbed them yet because I was certain they were Frye Harness boots. Actually they are Durangos, but that's our little secret. I literally screeched with joy as I snatched them up-I have been wanting a pair very similar to these as evidenced here

And lastly I picked up some old, worn-in T-shirts at Buffalo Exchange as well. Black vintage tees are ridiculously abundant in my wardrobe, and the more faded, thin, and hole-y the better. Basically, I get a kick out of pairing grubby tees with unexpected pieces like girly skirts and accessories to give new life to otherwise forgotten scraps of 80s fabric. And the best part about these two shirts is their backs...

Aaand, that one on your right does have Einstein's face on it along with a list of astronomical terms...yesss!

Chloe+Kate=Style Magic

As far as style muses go, Chloe Sevigny and Kate Bosworth rate very, very high on my list. Not only do they always look chic and natural, but it appears as if they do this without the tiniest bit of effort. Plus, they look so comfortable in everything they wear. These looks give me a whole lot of spring inspiration and I can't wait to wear:

-denim cut-offs with loafers/moccasins and socks
-denim vests paired with simple basics to add interest
-cropped tops with high-waist maxi skirts for day and night

And I definitely had a chance to buy those Isabel Marant boots (in my size!) worn by Bosworth in the fifth photo for ONLY $80 at a consignment store, but decided to hold off...STUPID, STUPID DECISION! Have you ever sabotaged yourself from buying a brilliant designer piece even when the price tag was too good to be true?

"But teach me something wonderful, crown my head, crown my head with your lilting effects"-Of Montreal

I'm afraid my maxi dress/skirt collection has taken over my closet. It's like all that fabric has a gravitational pull and I can't help but buy up every ankle-grazing frock in sight. The best part about these extended lengths is that they look effortlessly chic all while being immensely comfy. Plus, the possibilities for accessorizing maxis are endless-I especially love the look paired with cropped jackets and chunky jumpers.

I wore this yesterday while running errands, which was perfect because it offered the right amount of warmth and movement for the day's obligations. My boyfriend and I drove by this loud mural painted on the side of an exotic pet store and knew we had to take pictures with all the wild colors. Sadly, I didn't have time to gawk at the creatures within, but one of these days I'll work up the courage to go back and hold some reptilian something...just as long as I don't see anything with eight legs!

"Waiting for the sun"-The Doors

I'm over winter! Now I just want to lay outside in lace and flower chains. Lately I've been day-dreaming about...

A Modern Lullaby

This video and song are just too eerily beautiful not to post. I love the saturated green filter in the video and the piano interlude towards the end of the song gets me every time, very dream-like! Despite the minimal and repetitive lyrics, "Lovely Bloodflow" manages to still be an endlessly interesting piece.

Baths is solely made up of 21 year old L.A. native, Will Wiesenfeld. In his Pitchfork interview, Wiesenfeld reveals that growing up he was greatly influenced by Bjork, which strongly comes through in his own music and visuals. If you get a chance make sure to listen to his other tracks from the 2010 album, Cerulean, especially the song "Animals"-you will not be disappointed! Baths will be rolling through Austin on Saturday, February 5th at the Mohawk and I couldn't be more excited!
